There’s so much to say about both the Parr family and Starr’s Mill Park.
I love, love, love them to pieces. They live in the big city of Valdosta, Georgia and I don’t get to see them as much I want. So, when we do get together, it’s that much sweeter. I always walk away wishing they could stay longer. It’s always so nice catching up and laughing the entire time.
Jamie, the mom, has been a part of my family for years. My step-father was her Uncle. We practically grew up together. So many of my childhood memories include spending the night together, watching the Wizard of Oz on repeat (it was our favorite), and going on summer vacations to Busch Gardens. Even though our lives took different directions with her in Valdosta and me in Jackson, she’ll always be family.
I was ecstatic when they came up for a fall family portrait session. We spoke about locations, but she knew exactly where she wanted them at. It had to be Starr’s Mill Park in Fayetteville. She was drawn to the red barn and definitely wanted it incorporated in their photos. I couldn’t agree more. Jey and Jamie love movies, so when I mentioned that this place was featured in Sweet Home Alabama, they were so excited! Starr’s Mill Park is such a picturesque location. It’s known for the red barn, but I personally love the wooden fence, open areas with tall trees, and the waterfall backdrop. No matter if you’re looking for maternity, family, or engagement photos, this place has you covered.
We explored the area, captured photos, laughed a lot, and watched Elsie play in the leaves. It was such a great afternoon with them. I look forward to our next visit, whether I’m in Valdosta or having them up this way.
Leave me a note!
