Miss Emery was pretty in pink for her newborn studio session! I had the pleasure of meeting her when she was just three weeks new. I always include neutral colors for studio newborn photos, but her mother wanted to include some pink as well and as you can see, it was a great choice.

Newborn sessions have such a special place in my heart. I love getting to meet these brand new babies and love on them throughout their sessions. Together with their parents, we pick out outfits, bows, and hats. I love seeing their little personalities come out. Some babies love to sleep and others want to be wide awake the entire time. You never know what you’re going to get. I love to see them awake and curious, taking in the world around them. However, how can you not like those peaceful, sleepy photos too? When you’re lucky to get them both, it makes for the perfect newborn studio session.

Emery did so well for her newborn studio session. Since she was three weeks old, her mother was a little concerned that maybe she would be too alert or fussy for her session, so I was super prepared. Ha ha! However, we were both pleasantly surprised! She started the session alert and very curious about my camera. She even gave us some very cute expressions on how she felt in those moments. You’ll have to check those out below. Ha ha! It wasn’t long and she drifted off to sleep for the remainder of the time. She gave us a great combination of awake and sleepy photos.

From wraps and bows to little overalls, Emery was definitely a doll for her photos. I photographed a maternity session for her parents shortly before she was born. I was so glad to finally meet this sweet girl and have her in the studio. Check out a few of my favorite photos from her newborn studio session below.
