What’s a birthday without cake?!
Cake smash sessions are some of my favorite sessions to do! Especially cake smash sessions with balloons!
I had the privilege of hanging out with Mr. Bellamy for his cake smash session. The request was for something simple using blue and green colors. I found the cutest blue and green banner and added some balloons. It really doesn’t take much to create a cute (and simplistic!) setup. If you ask me, the simplistic setups actually look the best! Too many props and colors can really take the attention away from your little one, and all of the focus should be on them. Balloons are a great idea for cake smash sessions and the kids love playing with them. They add a pop of color and are a cheap, yet beautiful addition to the overall look. There’s no need to put a ton of money into props for these sessions.
I met this little guy when he was about a week old and I captured his newborn photos. I can’t believe we’re here, a year later, capturing yet another milestone. I’m so incredibly thankful for the families that trust me with these moments. Don’t miss out on your little ones first birthday photos! A cake smash session is something you definitely don’t want to skip. If you’re like me, when the birthday party is happening, your mind is everywhere. I’ve been there. Trying to make sure everyone’s needs are met, they’re having a good time, and throw in the cake so everyone can see it happen. However, it doesn’t always happen the way you want it to. Your little one can be tired from the party, or everyone is taking photos and you can’t quite get any good ones. It’s worth having their own little session to make sure you don’t miss out on the memorable first birthday fun with a cake.
