Studio photos for this now 9 year old girl!
Y’all, the years go by so fast. I feel like they literally fly by as soon as you have children. Time is such a thief. I make it a priority each year to take portraits of each of my kids around their birthdays. It has become known as their “birthday portraits”. They know it’s coming as their birthday approaches, and they start thinking of their own ideas for them.
My oldest, this sweet girl you see below, wanted to do something fun for her birthday portraits. She wanted it to be something different, fun, and unlike her other sessions she’s done so far. We talked about some options and confetti came up. So, we went with it. Studio photos, but adding A LOT of confetti! She chose the prettiest rose gold confetti that went perfectly with the dress she was going to wear. She danced around and made a mess. Ha ha. She threw it up in the air and laid down in it. It felt more like playing that taking photos. However, she loved it and that’s all that matters.
Confetti portraits are a great option for kids, especially those that don’t want to be posed or too serious. Go crazy with it, make a mess, and you still get portraits that are both beautiful and FUN! The confetti was a first for us and I’m so glad we went with it. I took a few photos of her alone and then we incorporated the confetti. If you don’t want confetti to be in every shot, you can do the same thing! Future confetti mini sessions, anyone? Ha ha.
I had the best time with this sweet, smart, and super creative girl. Here’s a handful of my favorite studio photos.
